Who you travel with

You will remember
who showed you Japan.

Imran, Moon and Wadie guide most of our days themselves, each with a professional driver at the wheel. Read the reviews and the same three names keep appearing. That is not an accident.

Our guide Imran was amazing and so incredibly knowledgeable. Our driver was also spectacular, keeping us safe and feeling comfortable on such busy roads.

Moon was very knowledgeable and showed us spots in Tokyo we wouldn't have known or thought of. He offered to carry our bags and even helped us interact with the shopkeepers.

We originally wanted to start late, but Wadie recommended an early start to avoid the crowds. It made the day smoother and more enjoyable.

What experience actually buys you

A good day is not
a list of places.

The famous sights look after themselves. What changes your day is the hundred smaller decisions around them, and those only come from having made them a few thousand times.

01

Weather changes with altitude

Rain at Kawaguchiko is not rain at the Fifth Station. At 2,305 metres you are often standing above the cloud that spoiled the view from below. On a grey day the cloud has usually lifted by around four o'clock, eight times out of ten. We never promise it, and a cloudy day has never once cost us a rating.

Mt. Fuji
02

A map does not show the walking

Eight places across Tokyo on foot and by train is more than 30,000 steps, and it does not fit into a day. With a vehicle waiting where it dropped you, the same eight come in at 10,000 to 12,000. Meiji Jingu alone is a kilometre or two from the station, or a 300 metre walk if someone takes you to the right gate.

Tokyo
03

The order decides the day

Tsukiji is always first, because the market shops begin shutting around one. From there the route runs east to west so nothing doubles back on itself. Get that order wrong and you spend the afternoon crossing a city you already crossed in the morning.

How we operate

Licensed, insured
and properly plated.

Your guide and your driver are two different people. The driver handles Tokyo's roads and the parking; your guide stays with you on foot. Transportation is arranged through our licensed partner, Nini Travels, on green number plates. In Japan that plate is the difference between a legitimate operator and someone driving guests around in a private car.

The short version

The sights are yours.
The day is ours to get right.

Being collected on time. Understanding what you are looking at. Eating somewhere worth eating. Not spending the afternoon working out where the next train goes, or whether there is time for one more stop. That is the part we are actually selling, and it is the part you will remember.

Where every tour feels like your own story.
