Good to know

Before you book.

Everything that affects your day, in plain language. If anything here is unclear, message us before booking and we will answer properly.

How long is the day, and what time is pickup?+

The tour runs approximately 11 hours door-to-door. Pickup is normally between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM from hotels, apartments or stations within Tokyo’s 23 wards. Your exact pickup time is confirmed after booking, and the start time can be adjusted on request.

How is this different from the Mt. Fuji & Hakone tour?+

Both run about 11 hours. This one spends the entire day in the Fuji region: the lakes, the ropeway, the villages and the shrines, so the pace is unhurried and you see far more of the mountain from different angles. The Fuji & Hakone tour trades some of that depth for an afternoon in Hakone, with its volcanic valley and Lake Ashi. Choose this if Mt. Fuji itself is what you came for.

Will we visit all nine stops in one day?+

No, and that is deliberate. Nine is the menu, not the schedule. A comfortable day fits roughly five or six. Tell your guide which ones matter to you and the route is built around them, with the weather and the season taken into account.

What if Mt. Fuji is not visible?+

Tours operate rain or shine, and Fuji’s visibility depends on weather and season. Your guide plans the route and timing around the day’s conditions, and the region has plenty worth seeing regardless. Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station access also depends on seasonal road conditions.

Are children welcome, and are child seats available?+

Families are very welcome. Child seats are available on request. Please tell us in advance, with each child’s age, so the correct seat is arranged.

What should I wear and bring?+

Comfortable walking shoes and seasonal clothing, with extra layers in colder months. The 5th Station is markedly colder than Tokyo, in any season. Bring cash or an IC card for tickets, meals and snacks, since some smaller establishments do not accept cards. Umbrellas are provided on rainy days, subject to availability.

Where can you pick me up, and are there rules in the vehicle?+

One pickup and one drop-off within Tokyo’s 23 wards are included: hotels, apartments or stations. Pickup from other locations can usually be arranged for an additional fee, subject to availability. Airport and cruise terminal transfers are a separate service, bookable from our Transfers page. For everyone’s comfort and safety, smoking, fireworks and hazardous items are not permitted inside the vehicle.

What is the cancellation policy?+

Cancellations 72 hours or more before the start time receive a 95% refund. Cancellations 24–72 hours before receive an 80% refund. Cancellations under 24 hours are non-refundable. These percentages are final and already account for transaction and refund-processing costs. Booking changes are subject to availability.
